The reason why is that is has been the ticket for freedom for so many people.
In a world when the rising generation seeks to have the freedom and the ability to work anywhere in the world, affiliate marketing is the engine that makes all of those goals possible.
If you are new to the world of affiliate marketing we will break it down for you so you know where to begin.
What is Affiliate Marketing?
Neil Patel defines affiliate marketing as the process of earning income every time you promote someone’s products or services. If you generate a sale for the company, you get paid. If you don’t generate a sale, you do not get paid.
You can look at it as if you were a salesman for the company but you are not employed by them. You are left to your own devices and abilities to market their products.
If you learn to do it effectively, you’ll be rewarded handsomely. If you don’t sell anything, you’ll be eating Top Ramen for dinner.
Affiliate Marketing Example
I am an affiliate marketer. I help educate people on other peoples’ products so they can make a buying decision.
One of the products that I help market is ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels is a software that allows you to collect peoples’ emails and then walk them through a sales funnel online. Having a sales funnel is like having your best sales employees working 24/7 because they can learn the benefits of the product and persuasively ask for the sale.
One of the products that ClickFunnels just launched was a book about copywriting called Copywriting Secrets. I knew that lots of people who are interested in making money online would want to buy this book because copywriting is the most valuable high-income skill you can learn.
Since I knew there was a product (Copywriting Secrets book) that could help people that I like to mingle with (online entrepreneurs) all I did was help the two meet.
I did this using the following methods:
- I created a YouTube video about the new Copywriting Secrets book
- I wrote a blog post explaining why one would want this book
- I recorded a podcast explaining what the #1 High-Income skill is and where people could learn this
- I posted on Instagram showing me listening to the audiobook
In this YouTube video below, I walk through each one of my posts, and the results of doing something. Many people reach out to me and bought the book from my link because I published content about the product.
In a nutshell, that is what affiliate marketing is. Now, there are lots of moving parts involved in getting started. Here are just a few:
- Creating a YouTube Channel
